Motorola Razor - Spin Cycle

Just this past weekend my wife engaged in her usual activities. The activity I would like to focus on is the Washing Clothes Marathon. What?! Yes, we all do it. You let the clothes pile up for a week, two weeks, a month, whatever you fancy and then spend an entire weekend washing, drying and folding them. Well this particular weekend my wife is tired from a long week and tosses her jeans she had worn that day in the wash. She forgot one key thing though. She had left her cell phone in her pants. After 15 minutes of washing, including the spin cycle, her Pink Motorola Razor was thoroughly saturated. Despite her best attempts at drying the phone it was dead... or was it. I remember reading online in a blog much like this that a great way to extract moisture is by using rice. The rice does the job you need naturally. I did a complete tear down of the cell phone and placed it in a container with 4 cups of rice for two days. On the second day we were both pessimistic, but there was nothing to lose. To our amazement, (even with a dead battery) the immortal Motorola Razor had survived a Washing and the Spin cycle! We charged the battery that night, and I am happy to report her cell phone is working fine. My hats off to the engineers and everyone at Motorola, oh yea and the person who told me about the rice!
